I agree that the Precision Bass is a good all around bass but not that good for slapping although, it does the job beautifully!.

Check out Schecter 5 - string bass with active electronic!. Surprisingly, they have good awesome punch, sweet mellow sound, and a very good action!.
Oh!.!.!.!.!.and inexpensive as well !!!!

i agree with Left-T, as usual, that schecter bass is excellent and much better than the fender at jazzy stuff!. i am a former schecter endorsee and a current fender endorsee, and i can tell you that for all around performance, the schecter will beat a fender!. however, the fender aerodyne p bass is pretty good, i got one for my little cousin a while ago!. theres also that new fender american p bass with the s-1 switching, however the action on that one is not as good as the aerodyne or the shecter!. rickenbackers are great, but not for everything, and you need to drop 2 grand for a new one!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
