You should definitely look for an instructor!. Anyone can TYPE an answer to you, but to get what you're looking for, you'll need someone to actually HEAR you, and also for you to hear them demonstrate what to do!.
As far as breathing, there are many books, articles, and websites with information!. You'll most likely want a diagram of the anatomy, and a description on how everything functions!. In brief, your lungs are long, like balloons, and you'll want to deeply inhale, filling them with oxygen!. If you see your chest area (up high near your neck) rise and fall with each breath, you are not using your full lung capacity!. The movement you should notice will come more from your belly area!. This has to do with your diaphragmatic muscles and displacement!. My best advice is to have someone explain this to you in person, so they can demonstrate and help you to achieve this deep breathing!. In the meantime, try lying on the floor or other hard surface, and place your hands or a light weight book on your belly, just below the last rib of your ribcage!. When you see it slightly lowering and rising with your breaths, you'll be on track! If you can't see the book, lie beside a floor length mirror or have someone watch it for you!. You will most likely be easily distracted, so find a quiet place to do this!.
also, with the "nasal" thing, you'll need to have someone hear you to diagnose the problem!. You could be simply holding the m and n consonants too long!. Make sure that when you are singing a note that the sound produced is the vowel sound!. Get through the consonants as quickly as possible, don't take your time on them!. Again, something more easily taught in person!.
Look in the phone book and online for a voice teacher!. You could also call a local college music department or high school choir director for more direction on finding a suitable voice teacher!.
Good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

The breathing shouldn't come in fast short breathes for one thing!. But for the nasal sounds I think I can help a bit!. when your singing it should come from your gut not from the nose and when you sing from your gut it really helps with the breathing, it will take alot of work but it will pay off in the end!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
