In my opinion, talent and all that do-something-to-impress-others is complete bs!.

You aren't BORN with talent
Talent is developed
by doing something that you like
and practicing and practicing
well, that's only my opinion
but SKILL is something that you learn and acquire through practice
and practice
and practice
!.!.!.!.!.!.
and practice
and that's no opinion, that's a fact

If you want to do something
preferably do something that you enjoy yourself
Something that makes you feel good with yourself, not something that you don't like much but will make you instantly popular or stuff like that

and also
c'mon you're 14!
you still have a loooooong life ahead of you
full of turns and surprises
it's not like you're 70 and still haven't done anything :P
i'm 16
and stuff like that that i do hmmm
i only play guitar and piano and i don't consider myself THAT good, but I love music
when i was your age i only played guitar (and very little, i was just learning like you)
and at that age i didn't even imagine myself in front of a piano and was about to drop guitar
but i didn't do it, i kept practicing and now i like how everything is going

What's the hurry, anyway!? You will eventually find something that you think you have talent for! Or, you can continue playing guitar and develop that hidden talent of yours!

And also, I see that you are a very humble person as you describe what you do, and that's great because people like that are becoming fewer and fewer nowadays!.

ps!. i also share your situation in sports, i'm not on any teams and i only play with friends sometimes, yeah haha i don't like being competitive very much!.

pps!. and wow, you are good at a variety of things that you do that you mention in the question, i guess that could sum up and make you great :P you are a very artistic person

final pps!. oh well, just stick to what you like to do!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

My advise is stop looking for something to come to you!. Pick the thing that you like most and work your butt off - I mean, every day for a few hours, go and do it with the intent of getting better!.
Even still you may not end up being 'the best' but you will be darn good, and you will have the satisfaction that comes with earning something through hard work!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

keep exporling new thing and you might just find something you are good at Good Luck don't worry i try to find what i'm good at to while going into freshmen year of high school!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You don't have any good skills!. Sounds like you need to get yourself a bike with shocks and pegs and take it off some sweet jumps!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

keep trying new things and maybe, that special talent will come someday!. Good luck!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

First, I can see that you're downplaying yourself: "not the greatest", "not like I can blow people away", "not at all that great"!.!.!. You must be better at something than you think you are!. Take a step back one day and really look at yourself, without comparing yourself to others!. Do you like the way you dance and sing!? Do you like your own acting!? Do you like the music you play on the Guitar!? Do you want to play sports, or were you pressured into it because everyone asks you if you do!?

Second, your gift doesn't have to necessarily knock someone's socks off immediately!. Suppose you really aren't that great a musician or performer!. Your gift may be in a place you haven't said yet: Visual arts!. You may be a good drawer, painter!. Just because you aren't quite the best singer in the world, doesn't mean you have no talents at all!.

Third, you're not alone in not playing sports!. I'm 6'6" and I don't play basketball!. Don't have the hand-eye coordination required to sink a free-throw!. >!.< I don't like playing sports because it's not something I do!. I'm not trying to tell you not to play sports; I'm just trying to say you don't have to!.

My advice is to be happy with yourself the way you are!. You are the only you, and if that's not good enough you must be with the wrong people!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Try your hand at various things, you may have a latent, undiscovered talent!. When you pinpoint your passion, then pursue it!. Everyone who has been a fabulous guitar player had to practice and practice, regardless of natural talent!. My guitar playing didn't "take off" until I'd been playing for a year and then it just "clicked!." I think that determination, and perseverance is just as important as "talent" which is kind of nebulous anyway!. Even Stevie ray Vaugan practiced 12 hours a day and everyone thinks he's the greatest (although I say Jimi hendrix was the greatest of all time and SRV ripped him off!.!.!. uh oh here come the thumbs down, lol) You're just learning how to play the guitar!.!.!. be patient, the first year is always the hardest!. If guitar is your passion then pursue it with your whole heart and you will get what you give!.!.!. remember that cliche practice makes perfect!.!.!. it's true! On the other hand, if you would like to play a sport, try out various sports, soccer, swimming, martial arts, and see which one suits you!. I loved martial arts because you are competing against yourself (I had to quit because I left the country and didn't have time to find a master in my new country but I'll eventually go back to it)!. It teaches values, "indomitable spirit" that you can achieve in life, the key is putting your mind to it!. I think it would help your confidence!. You're not mediocre, you're just at that stage in life where you're struggling to find an identity!. It's normal, everyone feels that way!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
