Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: If you still have your old strings with you, you can just ask the changing the strings if he/she knew what the strings were and have the exact same ones to replace the old ones!. It is likely that they'll know!. :) Or you can look for a video on the net teaching you how to restring your guitar so you can learn to do it yourself!. :) You can ask for a lower gauge if you want the strings softer, just check for intonation and fretting!. :)Www@QuestionHome@Com I have a Takamine and I use Elixir brand strings!. They are called Polyweb Medium Gauge strings!. your local music store will know what they are!. They come in a purple box!. about $14!. expensive, but i've never had a elixir string pop on me!. been using them for a couple years now!. Elixir has Polyweb and Nanoweb Strings!. I use Polyweb and recommend them, but i have also used nanoweb and they are good too!. Polyweb has some kind of coating on the strings!. I really like it, makes it easy for the fingers to slide up and down the strings!. just try 'em!. your guitar is a steel string acoustic right!? http://homepage!.ntlworld!.com/p!.comerford!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com i dont remember the last time i changed my strings!. go to your local music stores and bring your guitar and kindly ask them to change your strings!. then tell them you had fender strings!. now fender strings might cost you more and you might need to purchase them and then bring them to the store!. my local music store carries ernie ball and basic guitar strings!. and dont be shy talk to them on the phone!. good luckk!Www@QuestionHome@Com well if youv had your guitar for a few years and have only put new strings on 1 time thats umm!.!. oh yeah bad!. but my favorite brand is elixer!. they cost like 20-30 bucks but they are worth it because they hold fresh tone for like 3-4 times longer than regular strings!. thats just what i like!.
