Question: How do I wrap delicate merchandise as a cashier at a retail store!?
I'm a cashier at a retail store and I've been there for a couple of weeks now!. I'm good at everything except being personable with the customer, and wrapping delicate items (such as glasses/vases)!. I mean, every customer I look in the eye and say hi, and occasionally ask them how they are, but it doesn't usually go further than that!. I'm not the most talkative person but that's another issue!.

But my main concern is wrapping stuff in that brown paper, what is the technique and how do you do it!? I think I have autism, because I don't know how to tie or snap my fingers as well!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I would place each item down on the sheet of brown paper, then fold up the paper around it like you're making a burrito, crumpling a bit as necessary!. It doesn't need to be wrapped tightly, you want it a bit loose so the paper protects the item!. Mostly you want to keep the items from breaking when they bump into each other in the bag!. It's not like wrapping a birthday present-- you want a loose shell of sort-of crumpled paper protecting each item!. Securing the paper to itself with a bit of tape works nicely!.

I wouldn't worry too much about the "personable" issue-- it sounds like you're doing a good job!. If you take care of each customer quickly and carefully, they're going to be very satisfied!.

As for what section to put it under, I really don't know! The top level categories don't really have something that matches job questions!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
