Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Their are many good guitars on the market nowadays!. I have a 1963 Gibson Les Paul which is more a lot!. Having said this, the guitar has awesome sound and sustain!. The market value keeps going up and I doubt other guitars can acquire such good market aside from Old Fenders and Gretsch!.Www@QuestionHome@Com It depends how much you are going to spend!. If money is no object, then I'd go for either a 60's/70's Fender Stratocaster, if you love the clean crisp sound, or a Gibson Les Paul of the same era if you prefer a more full sound!. If, as I suspect, you are either a complete beginner or looking for your first "real" guitar, then I'd suggest sniffing round the Japanese makes!. A mid-range Ibanez or Yamaha will be by best the best deal!. The big American names are only superstandard if you're willing to put in the extra dosh!. Anyway, I hope that has helped you!.Www@QuestionHome@Com it depends on what style you're playing!. regardless, I recommend fender for several reasons!. easy to play, versatile sound (you can play literally any genre and find a good tone), and look and sound nice!. gibson is meh for me!. while they do tend to have more frets, I find that the sound is more for classic rock stuff and not really for alt rock/metal/other styles that could be played by fender!. plus, I don't like how 90% of them look =)!. I wanna play a GUITAR dammit, not a violin rip-off!Www@QuestionHome@Com I like Gibson (les paul)best by far because it is the most versatile!. you can play any style, but some of my other favorite brands include Fender (good rock and blues guitar) BC Rich (for Shredding/Metal) and Jackson ( for more punkish metal)Www@QuestionHome@Com Gibson or Fender!.!.!.
