you are not stupid dear !.Yes you can use it ,My advice is to get a good one, you won't be sorry!.You will like playing bass it 's fun and relatively easy( you only have 4 strings)good luck and stick with it!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

That is NOT a stupid question!. In fact, it's a good question!. There are probably tons of people who have wondered exactly the same thing!. Anyway, the answer is yes, you certainly can use the same cables as for any other guitar!.
