i have my bass drummers learn split parts as unison first,!.!.!.that means they know the whole rhythm first---then their particular part of the rhythm!. this helps with memorization and with fluidity of split bass parts!.

P R A C T I C E is your best friend!.
that is the only way !.
practice an hour or less everyday!.
play the same phrase 5 times, then move on to a new part, and put it all together!.
that is your best bet!.

REPETITION!.!.!. LOTS OF IT!
Go through it by small sections at a time, adding little by little!.
