Question:

I have been wanting to Act and sing ever since I was way young!. Im taking acting and singing classes while being in plays and concerts in and outside of school!. I am planning on pursuing it while working very hard after I graduate high school!. I was just wondering though, with all the big celebrities that we see and hear of today, is that what they did to help pursue their career!? What else did they do if you know!? That's awsome that your doing all ur school plays and everything, so keep that up!. Some steps you need to take would be getting your headshots, and then finding an agent!. Some acting schools bring in agents to search for talent, or there are now development centers that can help you find an agent!. The agent will send you to auditions with casting directors and hopefully they will hire you!. Then you just pretty much try your best to work your way up from there!. As for singing, a few musicians have gotten discovered by making demo tapes and sending them to record companies!. You really just want to sing anywhere you can get a gig, anywhere anyone will see you- its always a new chance to be discovered, such as school plays, talents shows, coffee shops, bowling allies, and anything like that!. Same thing goes for acting!. Try to get into anything where someone could see you!. Best of luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Umm!.!.!. U should post videos on MySpace!. Of both acting, and singing!. I use Facebook, so I do that!.

also, in high school (I'm goin into 8th) take the drama classes, be in choir definitely!.

also, if they have GT programs try out for GT vocals and GT drama!.

If there is a local theater, try out for some of the plays!. Especialy musicals!. I'm tryin out for HSM if i don't have foot surgery!.

just continue with what you are doing, you have to work harder and just enjoy that is all, those big stars also started from scratch so dont lose hopes, just make sure that in everything you do you will give your best and who knows somebody might give you a contractWww@QuestionHome@Com

You're not going to like my answer just because it's an honest one!.

Don't work to be famous!. Being famous and being an actor are 2 different jobs, REMEMBER THAT!.

The chances are extremely high that you won't be famous, so you need to look at a more realistic acting point of view!. Set you r goal on being a working actor, having consistent jobs, having lots of great contacts, and getting an agent to help you along the way!.

My best advice to you is to look into colleges that offer an extremely good acting program OR go to a conservatory!. If you're serious about acting, you won't have a backup plan, and you won't care about making tons and tons of money!. Just care about the art, your craft, and your discipline, and everything will fall into place on its own!.

Being an actor is a tough tough TOUGH life!. Don't go into it with any preconceived notions of fame and glory or you WILL fail!.

Don't compare your life to celebrities, because a MILLION other people did exactly what they did but got no where!. Just focus on yourself!. Study plays, scripts, screenplays, movies, and music everyday of your life if you're truely serious, then audition, and I promise you, you will get noticed!.
