Either an Ashton (dual pickup) or a Johnson (single pickup), they're both around the ￡130 mark or you can get a 2nd hand base from Ca$h Convertors for ￡80 to ￡90 but they aren't as good as they usually have cheapo machine heads etc!. fitted!. I've got an Ashton and my daughter (who plays in her church band) has a Johnson!. They are both pretty good for live work although the Johnson is quite weighty!. Would recommend the Ashton 150W bass combo to go with either!. You can get it for around ￡280 and it's good value as it has a graphic equaliser and boost controls plus all the usual stuff!. It does well in medium-medium large venues (last serious outing Scruffy Murphy's in Birmingham, now used in the Mermaid Theatre in Puddle Dock for church services on a Sunday)!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
