I think Piano is easier in the sense that both your hands do the same movement (pushing keys down), and has a lot more range so you can do more!. There is also a lot more music available to piano players and a lot of room to add your own flavour once you're comfortable!. There's no weird arm/finger moves required, because again, you're just pushing down keys!. Some of the stuff does get more complicated when you start playing higher level music, but you can always adapt the music to fit you and still have it sound right!. The piano is also usually a gateway into playing other instruments easily!. I started with piano, and now I sing, play the guitar (or try to at least), viola, violin, cello, did percussion in high school with never taking a class, and learned a bit of flute (someone stole my flute so that was the end of the flute career though)

The benefit of guitar is not having to look at notes in two different clefs and trying to figure out what exactly the notes are!. For the most part, guitar gives you chords, tabs, or music in the treble clef!. The guitar is portable as well, and relatively cheap compared to a piano!. The other thing is, with Guitar, once you get a couple chords down, you can play a billion songs!. Piano makes you work for pretty much every song you want to play, because you have a lot more to learn for each song!.

Piano!. I play some guitar and for me it's extremely hard!. I have a hard time playing it because it hurts my fingers so much!. I wish I learned piano instead!.
