Question: I have no clue and contest is coming!. I need help choosing a piano piece!.!?
Ok guys, Our solo/ensemble contest is coming up soon and I need a piano piece!. For all those more informed than myself (that's alot) the piece I'm looking for is a dramatic one with much contrast and various themes!. Many crescendos and tempo changes!. also "pyrotechnics" are a definite plus!. I love the works a Liszt, mainly la campanella (beautiful!!!) and of course the famous "hungarian rhapsody no!. 2" (cliche, I know!. But I can't get enough)!. I also love gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue" (see what I mean by pyrotechnics!?) (although I do think that the main line is a little overused, but still a wonderful piece) Last but definitly not last would be the work that tchaikovsky did on the nutcraker!.(very pretty Tchaikovsky, well done)!. As a final statement I'd like to say that although I'm not well versed in the many varieties of classical music (or spelling for that matter) I do know what I like and what the judges will like!. I've been playing for 8 years and and can handle almost anything!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Equally bad at spelling, I think you could look at any of the following pieces:
Kreisleriana by Schumann or Schubert
Songs without Words by Felix Mendelssohn
Pictures at an Exhibition by Mussorgsky
(The Great Gates of Kiev!!!)
Best of luck James, record it and post it on Youtube I'd like to hear it!Www@QuestionHome@Com
