If the drummer is in the back looking at the audience, the guitar player is on the left!.

As for me, I used to be on the right!. No big dealWww@QuestionHome@Com

Well, different bands work better in different ways!. A really popular way is for the bassist to be closest to the drummer's hi-hat!. This works well in many Rock bands because the bassist has a lot of control over the tempo!. At the same time, the hi-hat is a really penetrating sound that also keeps tempo!. Having those two elements closer will help a lot! Of course, many Ska bands find the same to be true with the guitar instead of the bass, as the guitar has possibly more control over the tempo in Ska!. As the same time, if the drummer uses the ride cymbal instead of the hi-hat often, then it's really rather equal upon who can hear the tempo easiest!. It's really your decision!. Just try to experiment a lot so that, if you have to move around, it doesn't mess you up!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Stand wherever you're comfortable and where you can see and hear the other band members best!.

For example, I'm a little hard of hearing in my left ear so I usually prefer to stand on the left side of the stage facing out, so I can have most of the other band members standing to my right (my good ear)!.

If I end up standing on the right side of the stage, I end up facing sort of sideways so that I can see the other band members!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
