Question: What is a good electric guitar to buy!?
I've been playing acoustic guitar for 3 years and I'm going to switch over to electric!.
I currently have a very nice washburn acoustic guitar that is 25 years old, and a cheap ashton electric guitar, which is a piece of crap that rusted out, and I can't change the strings!.
Anyway, I like the sound of a les paul better than a strat, but i'm not willing to pay for a genuine gibson les paul!.
I've been looking at the epiphone les pauls, and played some of them, they sounded ok, but not great!.
I've also looked at SG's, i liked them too!.
Anyway what is a good quality electric that will sound somewhat like a les paul, and will be a good price ($500 to 800 AUD)!.
Are the epiphone les pauls and SG's good, and what do you guys think of Ibanez!.
Give me any suggestionsWww@QuestionHome@Com

Hoping that you understand that all responses are completely a matter of opinion, my opinion is that Epiphone is a very good choice for you at this time!. Both the Les Paul models and the SG (esp!. the SG-400, over the 310) are very good quality for the money and you can play around with different pickups until the proverbial cows come home!. Just because you didn't like what you heard when you played the LPs you mentioned does not mean they are not capable of producing excellent tone!. The amp you played through also had a part in that equation!. Until you can spent a decent amount of time with a guitar to play with its switches and controls, you just can't make a decision!. Both the Epi LPs and SGs are capable of producing all sorts of sounds! The SG is lighter in weight if that makes a difference to you!.

I can't stand Ibanez guitars and would never purchase one!. Just my opinion after having done repair work on them!.

In the music industry, you get what you paid for!. Ibanez makes some good stuff, but it's all about your personal preferences!. You can always "hot rod" a guitar!. You can buy a lesser quality guitar and change the pickups on it, putting some quality pickups on that may help!. But to be honest with you, I really don't think you'll be happy!.!.!.!.!.the best thing to do is to go ahead and save your money and buy a quality instrument!. Just keep in mind that a guitar will also sound as good as it's amp!.!.!.!.!.so you'll need to consider a good quality amp too!. Best of luck to you!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think you should go with a PRS SE model!. Same stuff as a normal PRS just made in Korea with Less contour on the top!. If you like the sound of a les Paul, you like the sound of dual humbucker pickups and a set neck!. PRS se models have both features and high quality standards!. !.
