Question: Is it possible to cure yourself of stage fright!?
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
I think that nerves are good!. They remind you how important singing and dancing are to you, and how much you want to please the people in the audience!. I don't think there's ever a way to get rid of nerves entirely, and personally, I don't want to!.

On the flip side of nerves, stage fright that cripples you and harms your performance, or keeps you from performing, is never a good thing!. I used to be so afraid of singing in public that I'd be throwing up the day of the performance, and I would be shaking like a leaf and ghost white when I went on stage!. My voice was really timid and breathy, and not very nice to listen to!.

I think the trick to getting over that horrible stage fright is just to get used to performing!. There's a mindset, really, that you have to have and it's like this: "My voice is good, and for every one person that doesn't like me, there will be at least three that do, so f--- the person who doesn't like it!." You really have to get the attitude that you rock, and just don't care what people think!. It's hard, I know!. also, perform as much as you can in public!. The more people you sing/dance in front of, the easier it gets!.

So, to actually answer your question, I don't think it's possible to completely cure yourself of stage fright, or that nerves are even a good thing to get rid of!. However, you can definitely manage it and take it from crippling fear to some manageable nerves or butterflies!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

honestly, I've been performing on stages for school and also in a band I was in!. The stage fright has never completely gone away for me, there's always the little butterflies that don't want to leave your stomach!. The best way to make it die down a bit is to just make sure you know what you're doing!. If you are singing a song, believe that you OWN that song!. If you're performing, be the character!. It does get better as you get used to being on stage though, so no worries!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

honestly, no matter how many times i perform(either band cmopetitions, band concerts, winterguard competitions, or dance competitions) i still get the butterflies!.
but i swear to you, that is the best feeling in the world!
just remember, when you are performing, that is YOUR time to shine! let out your emotion & creativity!. have amazing stage presence, and WOW the crowd!
have energy and feeling!. perform with everything you've got baby!

Largely it's most likely to relate to practice and confidence!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Absolutely!. It just takes practice!. Take Jim Morrison (The Doors) for example!. When he first started singing in bars, he would sing with his back to the audience because he had such bad stage fright!. Look at the showman he became!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
