Question: How do opera singers put up with each other!?

But I am serious!
How do you put up with the sheer volume of sound when standing next to each other e!.g love scenes etc!?
I'd be really interested to know because none of my friends have any experience with this!.

It isn't bad at all!. The sound is directed forward, and even if it hits you in the face, it isn't really a problem!. Remember, even the loudest opera singer is unamplified!. It's nowhere near as bad as sitting near the speakers at a rock concert!Www@QuestionHome@Com

The volume of sound isn't a problem, you soon get used to that - bad breath can be pretty difficult to put up with though! In the heat of the stage lighting, and sometimes wearing heavy costumes, sweaty hot people in close proximity are also a bit of a turn-off!. And then you usually have to kiss them!

It's all worth it though!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It is called the ape cage effect! The first day in the cage it stinks, (horrible) 14 days later, it just wreaks a bit and in 2 months time you don't notice the smell!. Until someone says: "you 'pong', take a bath!." The same goes for sound, movement, trains, singing!. (modern screaming) Go to a rave, and see how fast you'll turn deaf!. It's like hanging, after 5 minutes you won't notice it anymore!
