Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: I'm a trumpet player but in high school the only year I made honors band was the year I played Euphonium!. My sectionmates weren't thrilled to learn I was sitting first chair and I'd only played for a few months!. Easier to play!? - maybe!. You'll just have to try it!. I found it just as challenging as a trumpet in many respects!. Takes a lot more wind but I found as a trumpet player the high notes were easier for me than other Euphonium players!. Could you be proficient in a few months!? If you're proficient with a trumpet, probably!. If you're struggling on trumpet though you might not do any better on Euphonium!. Or you may try it, love and you'll pick it up quickly!. Less competition!? - definitely I play trumpet mainly now but I still love the sound of the Euphonium!.Www@QuestionHome@Com In my case my lips were too big to properly play the trumpet!. I changed over and had a blast!. It has a neater range than the trumpet!. And you also do have less competition!. Making it easier to shine out, plus it is just fun to play!.Www@QuestionHome@Com |
