The two are for different playing tastes!.
The BC has a fixed bridge and humbuckers!. Generally, it is much like a cheap version of a Les Paul!. The fixed bridge provides arguably better sustain, some say, and is better for palm-muting rythms!. And the pickups can definitely harness a very near-Paul (thick) tone!. So your Slash and Page recitals will sound more accurate!.
It has a 3-position switch, to choose neck, bridge, or both pickups while playing!. Like a real Les Paul!.
The Strat (and clones) is usually lighter!. It has a tremolo (whammy) for Van Halen-esque playing!. The single-coil pick-ups give a distinct, crisp tonal sound and clarity!. It also has a much wider variety (5-positions) for selecting the area in which the sound is coming from!.
So it depends on your playing style, and tonal choices!. There is no "better"!.
They both can be had much cheaper used!. I've seen the BC for $100!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Get a used Jackson for that price for under $250!. Fender made in Mexico are garbage all the way!. I fix them on a daily basis which means that they can't hold their settins!.

BC Richis not a bad guitar but I believe it has no whammy bar!.

Check out the Jackson!. It has 24 fret, active electronic and awesome sound!. This is a very good buy and the sound is for today's metal and rock music!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
