or Ovation CC24 (or tell me your opinion of an electric-acoustic guitar that is $400 and under)Www@QuestionHome@Com Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: I tell all my students to go to a reputable guitar store and sit and play a guitar before you buy it!.!.!.!.!.you could have one Alvarez that sounds great and another that sounds terrible!.!.!.!.the same for the ovation!.!.!.!.!.!.If you can't play get one of the clerks to play them for you!.!.!.!.most can play!.!.!.!.and then you have to be the judge about the sound and action and how it feels to you!.!.!.!.everyone likes a different action and sound!.!.!.!.!.both Alvarez and Ovation have nice sounding guitars!.!.!.!.but it's up to the individual as to which they like better!.!.!.!.out of ten people you could have three that like the Ovation and seven who like the Alvarez!.!.!.!.but then bring in another ten and it could be just the opposite!.!.!.!.!.I'm sure that you'll see what I mean here with the answers that you get, some will like the Ovation and others will like the Alvarez!.!.!.!.!.it's up to you the player what sounds and feels best to you!.!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com The Alvarez is a much better instrument!. First and most important, it has a solid spruce top while the Ovation has a plywood ("laminated spruce") top!. It's the vibrations of the top that generate the sound, and solid wood is far superior to plywood!. Second, the Alvarez has a full size body that's full depth as well!. The Ovation has a mid-depth bowl that simply cannot generate the tone and volume of the Alvarez!. If you can try them both - or at least listen to them both - the difference will be obvious to you!. I'm sure the Ovation sounds fine plugged in but first and foremost an acoustic guitar should sound good unplugged!. Go with the Alvarez!. Good luck!.Www@QuestionHome@Com I have an Ibanez acoustic electric- got it for about 200!. i really like it!. i would go with these brands- fender, ibanez, taylor, martin and co, gibson, epiphone, squire (by fender)!. and definitely go to guitar center and talk to and employee!. they know what they're talking about and they'll help you!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Alvarez is a much better guitar and has an awesome sound and action!. The guitar is well set!. Ovation is awkward to play sitting down!. also, the action is not as good as Alvarez, which has a better re-sale value!.Www@QuestionHome@Com |
