Generally the nylon string is played with the fingers and serious boring playters frown upon guitarists using plectrums on them, I find this laughable as Jorge Strunz plays beautifuly on them with a pick, as does John McLaughlin!.

On the streel string generally if you are singing, I prefer to play fingerstyle, for rhythmic songs, and strumy songs, better use a pick!. I use very light plectrums for rhythm and a medium to heavy guage pick four single lines (solos etc) or tunes that use a bass note followed by a strum!. At times I'll have two plectrums in my hand!.

The steel strings in the initial stages of learning guitar are harder to hold down, so it may be better to play nylon first, or use extra light strings!. Most shops won't recommend extra lights, I've taught hundreds of people, I trust me more!.

Internally the structure of the guitars are different, the bracing is more solid on a steel string to prevent it collapsing, also the way they are placed!.

A person can gravitate to an electric reasonably easy, but first you need to get used to where the sound is coming from!.!.!.out of the amp!. Because of the design of acoustic and nylon string guitars there is a slight time delay from when you play the string to the time that it reverberates out of the guitars soundboard!. The response of an electric guitar is faster because the strings vibration is picked up by the magnetic pickup immediately!.

I think getting a great sound out of an electric takes a bit longer to master and I'd aim at a good tone at low volume, then turn it up later!. The strings are easier to hold down!.

Generally acoustic players end up more 'solid' because they spend time playing chords!.!.!.a lot of electric players doodle around with solos and often can't play a whole song!. Learn tunes!.
hopefully this is helpful!.!.!. I could go for hours on this

There is a big difference!.!.!. Acoustic guitars use STEEL strings and Classical guitars use NYLON strings!. In addition, classical guitars usually have a thicker neck at the nut end than acoustic guitars, so they force the player to be much more precise when they play, so technique is much more important than it is for playing Acoustic or Electric guitar!.

I don't play electric guitar!.!.!. never have and never will!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
