Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: 1!. Don't stand in the same spot for the whole gig!. IIf you can walk around more on stage!.!.!.do it!. 2!. Just be natural and go with the flow!.!.!.don't force yourself to have good time if you're not having one!. 3!. If you planning on swinging guitar around during your solos!.!.!.!.you BETTER have some strap locks on it otherwise your guitar will go flying off your shoulder and that will suck! 4!. Good luckWww@QuestionHome@Com Are you kidding me!? Dude, if you have to take lessons on how to "rock" or how to look cool while you are playing out!.!.!.!. you are in the wrong line of work!. I've been playing for around 20 years and I can tell you from a ton of experience that you can't be taught how to get into playing!. It just happens!. If you fake it, people will know!. And then you will get boo'ed off the stage!. There is nothing more pathetic than watching some cover band (which is sad in and of itself), trying to act like they are playing in fron of a stadium sized crowd when they are in some 100 person dive bar!. My suggestion to you is to just do what comes naturally!. If you are just starting out, concentrate on your playing and make sure you make as few mistakes as possible!. If you do screw up, don't stop playing and don't let anyone know you messed up!. Worry about how you look after that!. If you are more worried about how you look than how you sound, I will make one suggestion!. Watch a bunch of POISON videos and hairband videos from the late 80's and mid 90's!. That'll learn ya!. MikeWww@QuestionHome@Com dude ive been in a lot of bands and played A LOT of shows!. you dont learn how to rock you just do it!. that being said here are some classic moves: the ***** toss(guitar spin): make sure you have strap locks for this one!. just grab your guitar by the base of the nech and by the strap button near the bridge!. throw it over your shoulder!. make sure you are pushing behind you not pushing it up above your head!. if you dont have strap locks then use duct tape!. o also when it comes back around it will come right in front of you!. just remember to catch it!. The Delivery boy: sounds stupid, is stupid, looks cool!. basicly just push the neck out(like a door on hinges) and hold the bottom of the guitar against your hip!. IDk what its called but i do it all the time: basicly do a controled delviery boy but keep your left hand with it!. make sure you use a wide stance!. just keep opening and closing the door!. then after a couple times do it again but let the bottom of the guitar kind of slide behind you past your butt!. then use your right hand to pull it up!. like way up!. almost level with your head and pull it parrallel with the ground!. a good thing to remember here is always keep your hands on the guitar!. it helps if your right hand is holding onto the strings past the bridge so you have more control!. stall it for a second and then bring it back down to its prelaunch position past your butt!. but the biggest thing is move around!. just walk!. dont stand in one place for more than 5 seconds!. first start up in the crowds face!. move back and stand looking at the drummer!. then find the other guitarist if you have one and try to feed off of eachothers energy!. if the kids see that you are into it then they will get into it!Www@QuestionHome@Com The trick is to move around, make eye contact with your bandmates AND the audience, and look like you are having fun!
