learning guitar was not so hard!. all you need is a lot of focus!. the best way for starters is you have to learn to read and make tablature first!. try to read this link for more info about tablature!. http://en!.wikipedia!.org/wiki/Tablature!.
There's a lot of tablature site out there for free!. here's a good site for a tablature source!. you can even look for a whole song tab!. http://www!.ultimate-guitar!.com/Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well!.!.!. It's hard to learn any instrument really!. No instrument is easy to learn!. However, how long to get it down would be a better question!. It's all up to you really, whether or not you will get all of the technique down!. In my case, I was devoted to the guitar 24/7 so I was "shredding" after 3 years of guitar playing!. Committing to the instrument is a personal choice!. If you can't commit than good luck on learning the instrument!. I do have a bit advice for you if you do decide to learn the guitar!. Don't take lessons right away, take a year to get used to the guitar, so it would make the learning process easier!. also learn to actually read music, not Tablature, trust me, it's a mistake I did!. Play electric guitar, it can be quite easier to play on as of the frets are closer, and it's quieter unplugged!.
Hope this helps!

I've been playing for around 2!.5 years, and I must say the answer to your question depends on a lot of different variables:

If one has any background in music, it's going to make it a lot easier, and even moreso if he or she has background in playing a different instrument!. Since it's all pretty much the same language, just the medium is different, the skill from being able to play another instrument is going to transfer!. Another factor is one's natural aptitude at the guitar (which can cause it to come easier to some), as well as dedication, and one's own drive to continue at it!. Even the shape of one's hands can make it easier or harder to play the guitar, as well as physical defects (arthritis, for example)!. Choosing the right or wrong guitar also has an impact -- I've noticed some guitars just don't feel right in my hands!. There are a lot of factors that go into playing the guitar well!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Any instrument is hard to play but then again, I found the guitar easy to learn because i loved the instrument!.

Their are many different ways of playing and many different styles of music!. It can take a lifetime and still, haven't learned everything!.

If you like the instrument, the love you have will give you the ease to play!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

it's not that hard if you're really interested!.
in my case, i first learn to play the piano for more than a decade and now i decided to pick up classical guitar as a second instrument!. i actually think it's hard to play since i have piano fingers!. but it wasn't hard to understand the theory!. so it depends on you!. if you start learning guitar now, it shouldn't be a prob!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I've been teaching myself to play the guitar for a few months!. I haven't found it to be terribly difficult, but I play several other instruments and read music so I think that has helped me a lot!.

If learning is something you want to do, you will, but be patient with yourself!. Getting frustrated is just going set you back!. Relax, take your time and have fun with it!Www@QuestionHome@Com

It really just depends on if you've had any prior musical experience!. If you have, it's definitely easier, but if you haven't it's not necessarily impossible!. Get a good teacher and learn chords before you learn songs!. This always makes the songs easier!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It's tough to learn any musical instrument, but with some knowledge of theory and former musical training it goes easier!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
