Question: Acoustic guitar Q do plastic, bone or Ebony bridge pins really make a noticeable difference!?

It's a question of weight!. Compare brass and plastic (heaviest and lightest) - The brass increases the weight of the bridge so you get a little more sustain, but you need more energy (string force) to get the sound going!. Plastic is the opposite - doesn't add much weight to the bridge so a light strum on the strings gets the top moving!. There would be almost no difference in sound of the ones you mention!.
The other issue is durability - bone is the hardest so it will last the longest - ebony will wear out faster!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

They do not contribute to the sound or playability of the guitar!.
The vibration of the strings is stopped by the bridge of the guitar, the pins just keep them in place!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
