Question: Should I tell my parents that I want to be an actress!?
I asked this question already, but I want to see what answers I get today!.
I am very passionate about acting and want to attend UCLA for theater arts/Drama/Acting!.
Should I tell my parents!? I haven't told anyone I was serious about acting because I feel like they would laugh or shoot down my goals!.
I'm a little troubled with the idea that my family doesn't believe in that type of stuff, they want me to become a lawyer, doctor, teacher, the average-joe career!. But I'm the black sheep who sees things differently!.
What should I do!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Audition etc first see if you get in and if you do then I think that they will be very very proud of you and support you!. If you tell them you are thinking about it rather then you have done it then their negativity might start affecting your confidence and willingness to go against the grain and pursue what you love!. Auditions are stressful enough without pressure from families making you feel bad or inferior!. The time to tell them is either after you have got a place OR if you dont get in this year and need to reapply again next year!. You will need to put a really great case forward one where you are clear about what you want and how you are going to go about it!.

FOLLOW your dreams!. Believe me I didnt!.!.!.!.!. I went down the right path and regretted it ever since!. Though on saying that you could get a 'career' behind you - become a lawyer/teacher whatever and then go into acting because that way you will have more skills and scope to draw upon for your parts and also have chance to make good money when you are between jobs!. Good Luck!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Hi you only live once and should pursue your dreams!.
Have you been in plays at school!?!?
Acted before!.
If you have been into acting, drama etc and are really good at it and willing to work hard!. You should pursue your dream!.
It won't be easy but you can do it !.
If you don't try you will always wonder what could have been!.
I am sure when your parents see how passionate you are about it they will support you!.

When a person pursue what they really want to do in life they will be good at it!.
Sometimes I believe actors and actresses have a natural talent!.

Good luck
I hope to see you in the movies!.

of course the answer is 'it depends'!.!.

you should tell if your parents are the kind that understands and/or you can't go on to something w/o their permission!.!.

you shouldn't tell them if doing so will be just 'a waste of time'!.they'll never listen or whatever is their descision doesn't really matter to you, i mean, you're still entitled to your own actions!.!.

see the difference!? well, actually, you should be happy because the other teens don't know what they reaaly like!. so if i were you, fight for your dreams!.!. coz whatever their opinions are, it is still YOUR goal, and YOUR LiFE!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Have you every considered that they might encourage you!? I think they want you to do well in life!. It's really hard to get into an acting career, and when you do, it's not a lot to pay the bills with!. So tell your parents, but maybe put it as more of an interest (a part time job) in your life!. If you really love it that much, you should go for it!. But don't keep a secret life from your parents!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
