Question: How do you know whether ot not you have musical talent!?
I've played the guitar for years and wish i'd studied music in college but I get so frustrated sometimes and wonder if I have the gift and it's worth it!. I love music more than anything in the world, I'm 29 and want to give my life to it, and sometimes I think it was a mistake to become a teacher (my heart's not in what I do)!. I worry that I dont have talent because I dated several guys here and they didn't appreciate my music at all!! They stomped all over my passion for music!. And it was a blow to my self-esteem, I thought, I must suck or they would be supportive!. Why else would someone be indifferent or not encourage me!?!?
I really need to know once and for all if I have any musical talent! I need to know it that is the case, if it's too late to go back and study music!. Why do I have this passion for music if I have no talent!? How do I find the answers once and for all!?

I work with professional musicians and some things stick out from non-professional musicians!.
These guys have such a passion for it that they practice a minimum of 8-hours every day!. EVERY DAY!. If they work a gig for 4 hours then they spend at least another 4 hours practicing at home!. Their sight reading is spot on!. If they make a mistake on a first run thru then I am truly amazed!.
Reading the music takes no thought!. It truly is a second language to them!.
If this is your level of passion then stick with it!. Music is truly a passion and 99% of people that love it don't make any money while they do it!. Get involved in more than one group, ensemble, band, etc!.!.!. Work for free, work for money, and network, network, network!.
Your talent will be a direct reflection of your practicing which will be a direct reflection of how much you practice!. Teaching is a great way to stay involved!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
