Question: Am I too old to play piano and is it worth it!?
I'm 13 and I've just started flute (grade 2) and singing lessons!. I'm taking music GCSE and want to learn the piano!. I'm coping practising flute and singing for an hour each per day!. Would another hour of practise be too hectic do you think, playing 3 instruments would it be quite a lot!? also, people say that you should start piano as young as possible when the fingers are still "soft"!. Is it too old for me now to play well!? I used to play but never practised and stopped after a few months!.

Is piano worth all the effort or would I be better off concentrating on my voice and the flute!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

It's never too late to start piano!. It may be alot of practicing, but it's definately worth it!. If you can play piano, you can play almost any instrument there is!. But don't quit this time, stay commited to it!. I used to hate playing piano!. But my parents made me keep playing, and now I play for fun!

Plus, when you're just starting out at piano, you don't need to practice for a whole hour!. I'm in grade 5 piano, and will probably just have to practice for an hour!. In grade 4 it was only 45 minutes!. But only when I was preparing for an exam!.

So yes, it's definately worth it, and no!.!.!.you are not too old!

I think the piano is a great instrument!. No, it's not too late to start!. I started playing 2 months before I turned 15!. If you practice and stick with it, it should go well!.

Depending on your aptitude for music and piano in itself, you might find the difficulty curve not steep enough!. As with any instrument, you'll eventually get to the point where improvements are no longer big jumps, but more of an incremental crawling!. The more musically orientated you are, the more instruments you play the higher chance you have of finding a successful career in music!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

My guitar teacher (who is also a piano teacher but I just had him for guitar) told me that he started at 13 and he's AWESOME at the piano!!! If you really want to play then go for it, you just have to manage your time and priorities!. The fact that you play another instrument helps, just like my guitar teacher said that the more I practice the piano, it helps my guitar playing!. And it's a good way to get down with theory!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You are never too old to learn an instrument!. The piano is the easiest instrument to learn because there is a visual of the scale (for example, the black keys are sharps/flats)!. It should not be too hectic as long as you enjoy it and make time to practice!. Taking on many musical challenges can turn you into a music prodigy!Www@QuestionHome@Com

nah piano will be fun get learning!

my uncle is 65 and I've just started teaching him and he really loves it, you are never too old to do anything (except for entering an under-21 contest, he can't do that anymore)

and at 13, you'll be brill, especially as you can already read music!!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

You should do it!.
You probably can already read music, and you'll be better able to comprehend stuff since you are starting at an older age!.
But pick your main focus, and if you feel stressed by the 3 hours, decrease practice time on the other 2!.
And practicing an hour!.!.!.wows!.!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You're never too old to start, Though stress levels are to worry about!.!.!. I'm doing Grade 4 flute, and Guitar and the Irish equivalent of G!.C!.S!.E!. 's next year, and I'm a little worried!. But if you think you can handle it, you should totally try it; you can always quit if it's too much :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Piano is nice and you are never too old if that is what you want to learn to play!.
Their is no age and everything depends on your ear, the timing, and the creativity, your imagination !.Www@QuestionHome@Com

in a few years you will have to deal with your gcse's as well as all the practising if you think you can cope with it then it is worth learning as the piano is a more versitile instrument than the flute and could be used in conjunction with your singingWww@QuestionHome@Com
