Question: Can you answer this if you can play the piccolo and flute!?
I'm in the 7th grade, and I play the flute pretty well at my school!. I get to play in the 8th grade graduation, and my band teachersaid that he might ask a few flutes to try the piccolo, just for the graduation!. I'm kind of interested, but I'm not sure!. I know that the piccolo is slightly harder to play than the flute, but, what's the diffrence!? What do you have to do differently with your mouth!? It took me a few months to get a great sound on the flute, so how long will it take about to get a decent sound on the piccolo!? Thank you!Www@QuestionHome@Com

The Piccolo is in a higher register than the flute, if you can play the flute well, the piccolo will be relatively easy for you to play!. The mouth piece is the same, only smaller!.

the piccolo is harder than the flute!. i am a very good flute player but when i was in school i never mastered the piccolo!. it takes a lot more work from your mouth!. you get tired easier because you use yoru mouth muscle so much more!. you know how it is trying to get out a high G or A on the flute!? thats kind of how it is playing the piccilo!. but dont let that stop you!. if you have access to it you should definatly take advantage!. it will put you a step ahead of the rest!. well, the piccolo, is very small, but that's all I know, i don't play it, I'm in 6th grade and I play trumpet, but one of the Virginia Tech honor students plays it amazingly! He's the only piccolo!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
