The definition of tone is the quality of sound an instrument of sound has!. If your violin teacher said that you have good tone, that doesn't mean your instrument is good or you have a good ear!. That means that you play well and the notes and music that you play sounds like a true violin!. The sound must be rich and smooth for your teacher to say that!. Another factor could be that you keep your instrument in tune, so anyway, I hope this helps!Www@QuestionHome@Com

It basically means that you are able to consistently play in tune!. So I would say it's a combination of the two (but more the instrument)!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

She could be talking about both!. When you play in tune and have consistently good sound quality, you have good tone!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
