Here is what Taylor suggests:

Personally, I've had good luck with Martin Marquis (previously) and Thomastik-Infeld strings which I now use on all of my guitars!.

The strings I buy are of the "Jazz Swing Series" in !.010 - !.044 gauge (prod!. no!. JS-110)!.

The tone is completely different (not as bright) but you just may find you prefer it!. I have yet to have a negative comment from anyone about my tone, and they sound just as good on my old $200!.00 Epiphone as on my $3000!.00 Taylor!. And since I just KNOW somebody here is going to argue with me about putting flatwounds on an acoustic, here is a quote from the TI website:

"JAZZ Swing Series"
"mellow timbre, powerful, designed especially for semi acoustic and acoustic jazz guitars"

These strings put an end to "string squeak!."

Hi, good question! The suggestions above (D'Addario, Martin Marquis, and Elixirs) are all good, too!. A couple of thoughts:

1!. the brand of guitar doesn't matter when it comes to your choice of strings - the style of play and the sort of sound you want is more important

2!. Among the brands, you will want to make a choice between three basic types of acoustic strings - bronze, phosphor bronze, and coated!. Generally, the bronze will give you a bright sound, the phosphor bronze will be a little less tin-y, and the coated will last a looonnnggg time!. I use coated strings now, like the Elixirs suggested above, because I like the sound and I *really* like not having to change strings so often!.

3!. One of the major differences in how your guitar sounds will be in how often you change your strings - new strings sound good, old strings sound bad, generally!. Many guitarists who play a little bit every day would suggest that you change strings a least six time a year!. As I mentioned before, coated strings sound like new strings for far longer and I only need to change them every six months or so!.

4!. Another factor that is maybe more important than the brand of string is the gauge of the strings - how thick the strings are!. When you go to buy a set of strings, you'll be able to choose extra-light, light, or medium!. The lighter the string, the easier it is to play!. But, lighter strings also give a thinner, less robust tone!. Personally, I use light guage on my six string and extra lights on my twelve string!.

5!. String preferences are very subjective - there are alot of good brands out there that will do the job, if you change them often enough!. So, try them and you'll figure out which ones you like best, for your playing and your tastes!

Good luck and have fun!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Depends on your playing and picking style!. I think D'Addario is a pretty good brand!. You should just try a range of strings and pick the one that suits you the most!. Good Luck!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I like Elixir Nanoweb light gauge strings!. They're more expensive than non-coated strings but well worth it inmy opiinion!. I use them on all of my acoustics!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
