Question: Flute question!.!.!. alto flute, better flute, or wait!?
Background info: i'm going to 11th grade nest school year, i've got to the highest position our school allows for flutes (1st chair, highest band class) and i'm not the greatest player ever (lol) but I am really looking forward to advancing my skills and becoming a band director, and playing flute in college!.

I have been thinking about getting an okay-ish, non-pro, possibly used alto flute for some time now, just to play around on it and learn about it!.!.!. but then!.!.!. in my research for what brand, etc alto flute I should get, I found a question on here where another person wanted to get an alto flute, but everyone told her the they weren't very useful and she decided to get a better C flute instead!. I play a Gemeinhardt 3SB, I thought it was the greatest thing, lol, but i've read plently about how it isn't the right flute to play in college!. Should I get an inexpensive alto flute to play around with, or forget about it, and keep saving in order to get a good flute for college!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

I would get a better flute!. A better flute will advance you skills like you wouldn't believe it!. also in high school alto flutes aren't popular thing!. I play flute and I'm going to be in 12th grade!. Can you play your flute open holes!? That would be a good thing to advance on, scales, breathing excerises!. My flutes that I own are Armstrong, they're a really good brand, my "junkie" begineer one, that one you can drop it off a building and still play it fine as if nothing happenedWww@QuestionHome@Com

Save and buy a good flute!. Although I gather that yuo must be quite good!. THe instrument won;t make you a better musician!.
If you can make a crappy flute sound good, then you can imaigne what that same person can make an expensive flute sound like!.

A good flute is King, solid silver!. They are expensive but last a a lifetime and the resale value is always there no matter what!.
Then , they have the solid silver one with gold plating which gives a super sweet tone to the instrument!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Save and get a really good flute for college!. Alto flutes are a bit of an oddity!. You'll probably end up playing one in flute choir in college and the college will probably have one!. There isn't a huge call for alto flute in orchestras and definitely not bands!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
