Question: During performances!.!.!.!?
I tend to get nervous a little bit!. I have a play and concert next week, and I apsolutely love performing and the Idea of it! I was just wondering, what are some good strategies for overcoming the anxiety during the performances!? Because when I tend to get nervous, its because Im worried what people will think of me and of course if I will forget lines or lyrics, and when that happens, I get nervous, and when I get nervous I cant pull it off my total best, or thats when I forget the lines or lyrics, so what Im saying is, that when I get nervous thats when I can forget lines, so I was just wondering what techniques I can use either before the performance or during the performance to I guess just have more fun with it rather then being as serious!? Thanks!Www@QuestionHome@Com

When I start to get nervous I think about what I had to do to get to where I was, and that was LOADS more difficult than the actual performance!. Think about all the techniques you used to memorize the lines and what the words mean to you!. When you get out there, don't focus on ANYONE!. Not even your best friend, or your bf, or your mom!. Focus on the music, or the drama (whichever you were referring to theater or singing)!. If you're theater, let yourself become your part!. Put you into it and don't just say the lines!. For singing, again, connect with your part, and what you add to the performance!. Bring out the stuff you think is awesome, and relax on the stuff you think is part of the backround!. Just remember to keep breathing when you get scared!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
