Of course you're nervous! You really want to sing, and you're doing a competition that can help you do that!. When put that way--yes, of course it's nerveracking!

I would suggest several things!. First, stop putting all your eggs in one GIANT basket!. It sounds like, from your question (though I don't have all the information) that you are really going for the gold; ie a national competition which would propel you to automatic fame!. Which is great, but chances are (I'm just statistically speaking here) that is not going to happen!. Think about other (smaller) ways that you can become a singer for a living!. Form a group; perform locally; put a video on YouTube, major in music in college!. I'm not saying you shouldn't do this competition--but just don't make it the ONLY thing you're shooting for!.

About the nerves!. Accept that you're nervous as hell--it's not going to go away!. All the crap about "being confident--" I'm not sure those people are performers!. If you tell yourself you suck, that's obviously not confident, but simply being nervous for a performance doesn't mean you're not confident--that's bull!. Yes, be confident, tell yourself you rock, but all the confidence in the world isn't going to completely take away your nerves, unless you're superhuman!. Practice your butt off and be overprepared so that nerves are less likely to trip you up in your performance!. Realize that you may be nervous the entire time, but the beginning will be the worst!. The nerves will probably start to subside!. Once you're performing--get into it!.!.!.remember that the judges want to hear you do well, they're rooting for you!. Look at them, smile, APPEAR happy and confident (even though you're nervous, you can still have great stage presence), stand up tall and just sing your brains out!. also, visualizing yourself doing the audition--really see YOU actually singing it, not visualizing the judges getting up and cheering--and imagining yourself really kicking a**, can help you relax and boost your self-image!. Good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I have wanted to be a singer my entire life and I have finally outgrown the nervousness to sing in front of others!. If it is your passion, then you need to go for it!. Practice makes perfect, so practice until you can't practice ANYMORE!!!
The very best of luck to you!! My suggestion!.!.!.pray about it, as well!.!.!.meditate and imagine yourself out there in front of thousands!.!.!.however, not nervous, but be CONFIDENT!.!.!.BELIEVE in yourself!.!.!.you can do ANYTHING that you put your mind to accomplishing!!!! Positivity, smile at yourself while singing in front of the mirror, and practice holding the microphone, as well!. Let the music guide you!. Take care, AbsWww@QuestionHome@Com

Be confident! This is what will make you stand out! The judges really dislike really nervous people getting up on stage!
Being confident is REALLY important!
Secondly, rehearse the song you're singing as much as possible!
Thirdly, believe in yourself!. If you believe you will do an awesome job in the competition, then you definitely will!
Good luck!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
