Question: Why is it hard to be a clean comedian!?

I went to this club and did a joke(clean, no cussing, refrences to sex or drugs etc!.) so no laughs!. I go again, I see almost the same people, so I try something!. I say the same joke, this time adding swear words to them!. Guess what, they laughed thier butts off!. Anyway why is it hard to make clean jokes funny!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

A lot of times it depends on the crowd!. It's hard to keep anything clean in this society!. People expect sex and vulgar language!. Don't give up though!. It can be done, but you have to find your niche and it may not be at that club!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

There are very few successful comics who don't work blue (bad language)!. I have not heard any in the last 20 years or so that can keep it clean and still work alot!.
Bill Cosby may have been the very last clean comic to make it big!
My personal take on this matter is that if you don't curse-the audience wont relate as well,!.!.!.they all curse & you don't = they think you have a stick up your behind!

btw; i tried the same experiment years ago and found that same conclusion,!.!.!.deliver the same cracks with some attitude and energy, leave out the bad words and die on stage-or use the nasty stuff sparingly and time it well / see if it pays off!Www@QuestionHome@Com
