Question: Should I drop guitar for singing!?
I've done guitar for just about a year now and it's okay and I enjoy it, but I think I'd enjoy singing a lot more!.
I don't want to make my parents pay for both guitar and singing lessons- should i drop guitar for singing!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well, hon, this is what I did!.!.!. At one point I was taking both guitar and singing lessons!. You're right!.!.!. if you aren't liking it as much, it is not worth the bill!. My parents were paying for it at the time, so finally I just told my guitar instructor that I needed a break and I might be back later but it wasn't working out for me!. I continued with the singing lessons because I had a musical audition coming up!. With the singing lessons, I got lead in the musical!. I stuck with those lessons because I had more passion toward vocals than I did toward perfecting the guitar!.

I still play the guitar, however, it's just taking me a lot more time to get better at it than the rest of my friends since it isn't my focus!. I say definitely keep playing no matter what -- if you are going to focus on singing, sometimes you won't always have that accompaniment behind you and you may need some guitar skills to back you up just a little bit!. But if singing is what you are passionate, that is what you need to be doing!. I am very happy with my decision several years later, and went on to find other instruments that I was much better at playing than the guitar!. I say do it!. And when you are in a guitar mood, just go to youtube!.com because many people record lessons online and are more than willing to help you for free!. :]Www@QuestionHome@Com

Which ever one you think you can go the furthest with is th the one you should stay with!.
But you shouldn't stop either one completely!.
Still do it just don't take lessons!.
You can sing and play guitar at the same time when you practise by the way!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I would recommend dropping the guitar lessons but keep playing!. You can find a lot of guitar info on the internet but it's harder to learn how to sing without an actual teacher!.
Then you can do both at the same time!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I agree with Teeter!.!.!. don't drop the guitar but take singing lessons!.!. being able to do both is worth the time and expense, so don't give up the guitar, just the lessons!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

If that's what you really want, then sure!. But don't give up on the guitar, it's really an awesome instrument!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
