Question: How is an upright bass violin tuned!?

I think the reason Leo Fender tuned his newfangled Precision Bass the way he did in the early 50s was to attract the utapped market of doghouse bass players who used the EADG tuning on the double bass!. I don't play it myself, but a guy who does told me that once your left wrist gets used to the new upright neck, it will try to break your bass guitar neck in two, because its become so strong!Www@QuestionHome@Com

As the previous poster says, bass guitar and upright bass are tuned the same!.

The scale length is longer on an upright and there are no frets, of course!. If you can get used to those differences, you can play the "doghouse"!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The upright bass is tuned the same as an electric bass!. From the largest string to the smallest, it is tuned to E A D G!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
