Question: How old is too old!?
I visited the theatre recently and it really made me think how much I would love to be able to sing/dance/act!.
I'd love to start some sort of performing arts, although I am 14 and I have never done anything like this before!. My friend started dancing and singing when she was very young, and I was wondering whether you thought 14 was too old to be considering a career in performing arts, seeing as though I've never had experience doing anything like this before!?

I would be grateful for any replies, thanks!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Absolutely not too old!. I started doing theatre when I was 15, and have been performing regularly ever since!. Before you decide to make it a career, do some research!. Audition for a couple of shows!. Learn what it is to deal with rejection (you *will* be turned down from shows!.!.!. all the time!. It's not that you're not talented!. You may not be the right height or age or hair color or amillion other things)!. Get into a show and learn about the rehearsal process and the long hours that go into making a show!. Read some books on the reality of an actor's life!. If you still want to persue it as a career, take some dance and acting classes and get a voice teacher!. Keep auditioning!. And look for a theatre program for college!.

Without any experience!.!.!.I wouldn't be jumping into a "professional career" yet!.!.!.
I would do all you can to get experience at your school, local theaters, and such, and take a class at a theatre school!.!.!.where you could learn the basics!.!.!.
for now!.!.!.i would just stick local, and do plays at your school, and audition for a play or musical at a local theatre!.
Like I am a performer, and have been dancing since 3, singing on stage since 8, and just got into acting about three years ago ( i was 11 or 12 i think), and I feel "un-experienced" compared to other who "came out of the womb" singing/acting/dancing, but every year at least 5 kids come to the state theatre i am a part of and take classes!.!.!.so your not alone! Your never to young to start a new hobby or activity!. : )
There'll be alot of hard work and dedication but will determination!.!.!.you can do it!!!!!!!! If you believe in yourself you can do anything!
Good Luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think there's no such thing as 'too old' to learn anything!.
I was 13 when i picked up an instrument!.
So 14 is definitely not too old to consider a career in performing arts!. Your friend may have gain experience, you can do it too!. Dont be affected by people telling you that you are too old!. First, you have to believe in yourself!. =)
And of course, getting support from your family and friends is important too!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

i don't think 14 is too old to start a music career!. i started playing guitar when i was 14!. now, i'm 22 and i play piano, drums and guitar!.!.!. it's never too late!.!. as long as you have the passion for it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

you are still very young!. so go ahead and follow your dreamsWww@QuestionHome@Com

Age has little to do with talent!. Of course a young person like yourself has the opportunity to prepare by studying and concentrating in the field that interest you and if you have a bit of talent it will be brought into the surface by a good tutor!.
I tell you a story:
Ezio Pinza (RIP) was a world renown Opera Basso and when he was in his late 50's (around 57-58) He became interested in the Broadway Musicals!.
His prior music experience was strictly on the opera stage!.
If you hear him speak he spoke with a very pronounced Italian accent!.
No one would have consider him him for a Broadway stage
"american musical"!.
But he had a desire (and of curse well-connected) and wanted to sing music other than Opera!.
To make a long story short- He got the leading male role in
the musical "South Pacific" and became the idol of every
broadway musical lover!. His robust Basso voice (even with
his accent singing in English) was the favorite of the Broadway Theatre patrons!.
Even to this day no other singer have been able to match the appeal of his voice singing the one song that was heard more often than any other during the following Bradway musicals years; The song (you may find it in You tube) is:
SOME ENCHANTED EVENING!.
If you get a chance, try to listen to this "old" man singing that song!. People forget his age when they hear him sing!.
You could very well become another future star!.
Good Wishes!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
