Question: Drop D bass tuning help!.!?
I have just started to play the bass, and I want to know how to tune drop D!. I know when you do a drop D it is DADG!. Does that mean the first string would sound like the third!? And I am using D'accord tuner a software to tune my bass, and in the preset standard tuning the D (third string) is a D3, does that mean when I tune the first string for drop D it is also a D3 !?

Thankyou!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

No the low D is one octive lower ,so it's in harmony with theD3 and also with the second string at the fifth fret!.If you put your ring finger on the second string at the fifth fret ,the top three strings should be in harmony!.Learn the song called Moby Dick by Led Zepplin, look it up@guitaretab!.com!.This is a badsic good rock bass song!.

The D for Drop D would be one octave below the third string!. If you tried to tune it to the same octave you would probably snap the string!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
