I would suggest you buy a nylon string (as opposed to steel string) acoustic for three reasons:
1!. you should be able to get a decent one cheaper than a decent steel string
2!. the nylon strings will be easier on your virgin fingers (make no mistake - for a beginner, it's harder than it looks)
3!. there's a bit more space on the fretboard to contort your fingers into the necessary positions!.
If you have a friend who plays, I'd seriously recommend you taking them along to help you choose!. Even a little bit of experience is better than none at all when it comes to choosing a guitar!.
Either way, I'd start at second-hand shops/pawn shops!. I have no idea where you're from and what the market is like there, but see if you can get something for US$50-US$80 to start with!.
When you say "I cant get one unless its a fair price",I assume that's what your parents have said, or you're just on a tight budget!. Either way, don't get talked in to paying more than you're comfortable with!. Even a poor quality guitar can make *some* sort of music!. After 6 months or so, if you're still interested, then upgrade!. It'll be much easier foryou to choose your own guitar once you know a few chords/songs!. And also, if you are relying on your parents, they'll be much more inclined to spend the money if you've already played guitar and enjoyed it for 6 months!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

If you really want to learn to play, I don't suggest a 'cheap' guitar!. I promise you'll give it up sooner than if you start with a good (if not quite as inexpensive) starter model!.

Yamaha makes some decently priced starter guitars, as does Takamine -- both are around $199 at Guitar Center!. You can also buy "starter kit" guitars (they come with strings, a gig bag, tuner and instructions), which cost pretty close to the same or even a bit less but are better quality than the "cheap" ones you'll find looking elsewhere!. Check the link below for some examples!.

eBay is a good idea too, and sometimes you can get a good deal there!. Have a friend who knows guitars help you figure out which ones are worth what they're asking!.

Finally, I too would recommend starting on a classical!. They are generally less expensive, the nylon strings don't slice up your fingers as badly as metal ones as your calluses form, and the wider neck is ideal because the strings are further apart, making it easier to find the right ones as you learn to play without looking at your fingers!. :)
