It is Raoul 40+ years later, he is visiting his wife Christine's grave!. By reading the headstone we see they were married many years and had several children!. We also see evidence freshly placed on the grave that leads us to believe the Phantom is still alive after all those years!. In fact, the entire 2004 movie places all of the main story (set in the 1870's) as a flashback on the day in 1919 when Raoul attends an auction at the "old" opera house where he buys the monkey and remembers the events of many years before!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
