Question: For people who know about maintaning instruments only!?

on my alto sax the key is circled in this picture--> http://i279!.photobucket!.com/albums/kk153!.!.!. when i press down on it hard or for a long time it sticks so i have to pull it off is there anyhting i can do or put on it to make it not stick!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Wow, that reminds me of a tenor I had!. I used to put a piece of paper in that area to soak up the spit!. (This works when in a rehearsal!.) The spit drying in the horn most often causes the sticking!. You can also buy a cloth cleaner or microfiber cleaner for the body of the instrument to remove most of the spit!. It doesn't need to be repaired!. You could take it into the shop if this persists, because maybe a screw is too tight!.
Don't do anything yourself!. The fact that you asked this questions shows that you are unfamiliar with the mechanics of the saxophone, and you would cause more harm than good!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

How about getting the pad replaced, or putting a thin piece of paper between the pad and the opening to soak up any additional moisture!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
