"Definitely Maybe" the album by Oasis is good place to start!. The songs feature a nice blend of open and power chords, nice arpeggios, some relatively simple riffs and the occasional solo!.

Besides everyone knows Oasis and most can sing a long to few, and usually sound good without any backing or accompaniment!.

If that's not your taste some Jimi Hendrix Experience features most of the above qualities and is a little more adventurous!.

When you can play the likes of the above it's time to move onto some Eric Clapton or Led Zeppelin!. There a little harder and everyone will ask you to play them anyway! So there good to get under your belt!.

Beyond that it's wherever your taste takes you!. If I was to make a personal recommendation I'd say look into some "Morning View" by Incubus!. Mike Einziger has a moderately technical but loose and flowing way of playing, and if you're playing electric is a great example of the use of delays and choruses!. His style will further develop any good guitarist, but it's up to you!

Learning guitar is making a friend for life!! Play on!!

P!.s!. On being a good guitarist, it's not how technically you can play, but how much passion you can put behind it!. ; )Www@QuestionHome@Com

Neil Young's Hey Hey My My (the electric version)
its Am G with C and quick D thrown in and you can acutally pick the melody and keep the strumming rythym at the same time!.

And turn your amp way up!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

"Time In A Bottle" by Jim Croce!. Check it out on youtube!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
