Often, arpeggios will start and end on the note that comprises the chord!. As advised previously, check the key signature, but that will not always identify the arpeggio and its key!. Identify the notes that are duplicated the most!. Chances are that whatever the note may be, that will be the key or chord to play!.

Solos might start out in a major key and end up in the associated minor, such as starting in the key of C and ending in A minor!. Determining the piece's key signature is a must!. You can do that by taking the last sharp (called "ti") to the right and then go up or down the staff to "do!." That note will be the name of the key!.

With flats, take the last flat (called "fa") to the right, go up or down to "do!." The same holds true as in sharps!. If there are no sharps or flats in the key signature, the key is either C major or A minor!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Look for the end note, generally!. If the music is written in standard form, there'll be a key signature at the beginning of the piece, and at any key changes!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
