Question: What is the best way to succeed in music!?
Hi to all!. I was just wondering about that!. I am a music teacher who wish to promote his music!. I have really good songs!. Some of them could be easy listening some of them are hard rock, a lot of influences something really different but could be accepted easily by all types of audiences!.
Which is the best way to promote my music!. Should I send demos to record companies as more as i can and wait for replies or there is another way!.
Personally I wouldn't trust the record companies as the times are completely different than the 80's!. I don't know if there is another way!.!.!. Do youtube and myspace help!?

What makes you think the eighties were any different!? If you really want to get your music out there, record it, press it, put it on the web, and before you do any of that, copyright it!. Put all of your songs together in one book and copyright it as one work!. It's much less expensive and gives you just as much protection!. You can copyright what takes off as a single work later if you need to!. Get a couple of books on the Business of Music and study them!. When you are ready, set up your own small publishing company!. Even if you are picked up by a larger company later, this gives you an additional slice of the pie!. As long as you are not selling hundreds of thousands of CDs however, you are better off selling them yourself!. Many artists are finding this out the hard way!. A larger slice of the pie means you have to have a lot less pie to still be successful!. Write a couple of songs for good causes!. It gives you much needed publicity!. Either put your own band together or get someone to perform your material!. You don't have to play out that often, but you do have to promote yourself!. I put a bunch of songs on Soundclick!.com for the fun of it, but you can sell your songs on there as well!.

They are all very primitive, but I enjoy putting them on there and always appreciate it when someone lets them come out and play!. (I think of my songs as my spiritual children, hoping that they will live on after me!. It is a very interesting form of immortality after all!)Www@QuestionHome@Com
promote your music every single way possible!. the fact that you have another role will not help much!. you need to be completely dedicated!. if your music is listened to by a lot of people, is that good enough without having a record deal!? what do you really want!? to be famous and rich or to be a musician!?Www@QuestionHome@Com
