Question: Guitar question!?!!?

im going to start learning how to play the guitar!.
i want to play the electric, but ive been told i should start on an acoustic just to learn
so should i start off with an electirc or an acoustic!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

A lot of people say you should start on an acoustic!. your errors are easier to hear (and fix), finger strength builds more quickly, generally cheaper, more portable, etc!.

However, it's harder to learn on an acoustic!. Electrics have smaller bodies, smaller necks, and the strings are lighter (easier to hold them down)!. This might be a consideration, that is, if you want to see results more quickly, electric is the way to go!.

I personally think it mainly depends on what kind of music you prefer or are looking to play!. If it's predominantly acoustic or electric, i'd say go with whichever that is!. you'll be practicing songs you like the most, so pick the instrument that matches!. I've taught people how to play starting on both acoustic and electric, and i have seen no real major advantage or disadvantage in picking things up and learning!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
