Question: How can I not be nervous in front of crowds!?
I adore performing!. Dancing, acting, piano, you name it!. Though in front of crowds, I get overcome by a wave of nervousness!. I love the energy of the stage, and I would never want to give it up, but sometimes, all of the work I have done gets thrown away when I ruin my performance because of messing it up in a nervous rush!. Is there anything I can do to calm myself down!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Nerves are your body's way of telling you that something important is going on and that you should pay attention!. Instead of falling victim to nerves, use them to your advantage!. Tell your body in a firm but reassuring tone that you are indeed paying attention and need that extra burst of adrenaline to do your best!. Checklists help!. If you are absolutely sure that you have done everything humanly possible to prepare, it is easier to put the performance into perspective!. It also helps to get yourself into "character!." You may be nervous, but the dancer inside of you never gets nervous, never takes a bad step, and never misses a cue!. Take on the personae of that dancer and wear it like a costume!. They don't say take deep breaths for nothing, so just concentrate on your breathing for about five minutes before you go on!.
Pretend like your just at a practice, yes you can get it wrong but just calmly carry on without any fuss!.

also before hand, don't practice in the wings, you can calmly run through what you are meant to do in your head, but not frantically, just chill!.
And most of all enjoy it :)

When you feel butterflies or nerves, etc!. just be like "YES!" This is what I want to feel!. Tell yourself that it's what you want to feel and that it is a good thing!.

Otherwise if you tell yourself "Aw man I'm nervous!" Then it just gets worse!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
