Electric guitar strings are usually thinner so you can pull off those easy bends and finger picking for solos and they have more gain to them when you plug them into an amp!. Acoustic strings are a little thicker so that they can produce a sound loud enough to tell what it is!. They have little to no gain when an Acoustic electric is plugged into an amp!. Similarities!.!.!. well they're both six stringed, have frets, and can be tuned to the same pitch!. They're basically the same you can just do more stuff with one than you can the other!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
