Well, the fret size is matched to the model of guitar!. Electric basses, for example, use big fat frets, electric guitars use much thinner ones!.

Are you instead inquiring about the guitar scale--that is, a dreadnaught, full-size, 3/4 size, small-scale, backpacker!? It depends on hand size; if the hand is roughly 3/4 the size of a typical adult hand, then a 3/4 scale guitar is indicated!. There is no age correlation; some adults have smaller hands, some preteens have enormous ones!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I built a strat-like guitar once, but instead of using the (if memory serves!.!.!.) 2!.8 mm Strat fretwire, I preferred the 3!.2 mm Gibson Les Paul type!.

That was 20 years ago and it's still my favorite to play!.

You might want to go to the local guitar store and play several different guitars!. Some things are going to feel more "right" to you, and that's the way you should go!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Just find a guitar that is easy to play with your hand size!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
