Flute recital....?

Question: Flute recital!.!.!.!.!?

im in the 8th grade and i have a flute recital coming up!.i have to play a duet with another flute and im the top part!. do you have any tips on stage fright!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

In my experience, your experiences might be different, 'stage fright' is most often the result of just not being sure you're ready!. So, be sure you're ready!. ? You know you are - your teacher wouldn't let you get up there in front of people if you weren't!.

Practicing in front of people helps a lot!. Find classmates, friends, family to listen!.

Being prepared for anything really helps too!. There are probably only two things you are most affraid of!. 1) you slip or fall or something similar 2) the two of you get so far off that you have to stop and start over!. These things do happen sometimes but they aren't a big deal if you know ahead what to do!. Simply look at the audience - straight faced - and say "don't you hate when that happens!?" and go on!. The audience understands - they too hate when that happens!. ?

Most important - it's music!. We "play" music so that means it should be fun!. Just go up there and have fun and don't worry about anyone else (except for your other part player) while you're having fun!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

When I always played something, duet, solo I always made sure i can do it 100% with no problems always worked on it the most and when it came to concert and what not just imagine that you're just playing it to yourself, i usually close my eyes when I played a duet/solo!. If it's you're first one not going to lie its going to be nervous but its all mental take a deep breath before you start (make sure its early enough so you're not late on timing) and do what you know you can do :)!.
