The Drum Major in Me
Ever since I was a little boy and saw my first half-time show, I knew I wanted to be Drum Major!. This was eight years ago, and I still have that dream of being Drum Major!.
Being involved in band has helped me and my self-esteem a lot!. Walking down the halls in school, I feel that sense of accomplishment and pride that you can only get by doing what we did this year in band!. I want to give back to the band for everything the band has done for me!. Being Drum Major will help me give back to the band!.
My plans for my future involve going to college to be a band director!. Being Drum Major will help me with those plans!. Not only will it will give me the experience I need with conducting and leading a band, but it will give me a chance to show my true colors and potential!.
I feel that I can help the band reach new levels as Drum Major!. Crystal pushed us to work harder, and we made it to state, with both Crystal and I as Drum Majors, who knows what the band can do!. It is said that the body (or band) is only able to reach full maturity once the head (or Drum Majors) stop holding it back, and that’s what I plan to do, I plan to stop holding this amazing band back to let them show us how to “own it”!.
