Question: Why do my strings break when detunning!?
When i go to do truss rod work on my acoustic guitar, i detune the strings so that they wont snap, however, when i am going DOWN, usually the b or high e string will break, what causes this!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

regardless if you are tuning a string up or down, if you turn the tuning key too quickly you are putting more stress on that string than it is made to handle!. try tuning down at a slower pace so the string has more time to accomodateWww@QuestionHome@Com

I think because when you make them tight they break!.
