Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: regardless if you are tuning a string up or down, if you turn the tuning key too quickly you are putting more stress on that string than it is made to handle!. try tuning down at a slower pace so the string has more time to accomodateWww@QuestionHome@Com I think because when you make them tight they break!.
